Announcing the 2025 Art Showcase Honoree: Suzanne (Suz) Hall, BS, PT, CALT

We are pleased to announce Suzanne (Suz) Hall as the 2025 Honoree of the Celebrating Neurodiversity Art Showcase. Suz has dedicated her career to advancing literacy and supporting individuals with language-based learning differences, touching countless lives through her commitment, compassion, and belief in the potential of every learner.

Suz began her professional journey as a licensed physical therapist after earning her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas. Her early work at the Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center in Bryan connected her with children with physical disabilities, and later, she supported adults recovering from stroke—many experiencing both physical and communication challenges. These formative experiences shaped a lifelong dedication to helping others build confidence, independence, and voice.

In the late 1990s, Suz pursued a second calling that she described as something she could do “from her wheelchair.” She completed the Basic Language Skills training at the Neuhaus Education Center and became a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) in 2002. She began working one-on-one with students experiencing language learning differences, including scholarship recipients supported by Neuhaus. Two years later, she joined the Neuhaus Education Center staff as Parent Resource Coordinator, where she spent 19 years supporting families, managing the Neuhaus scholarship program, and helping children access the literacy instruction they needed to thrive.

Suz has also served as an instructor in the Neuhaus Adult Literacy Program since 2006. Teaching and mentoring adult learners remains the work that brings her the greatest joy, and she continues this service today with meaningful dedication.

Suz lives in Houston with her husband, Rick, whose support has been a steady presence throughout her journey. She is the proud mother of two sons and is surrounded by family who continue to cheer her on. She describes her life as full and meaningful, and she remains committed to “paying it forward” for many years to come.

We are grateful for Suz’s example of service and advocacy, and we are honored to celebrate her profound impact on the Houston community.

Please join us in recognizing Suz Hall as the 2025 Celebrating Neurodiversity Art Showcase Honoree.
We look forward to honoring her at this year’s event.
